Come and join me for a fun filled ½ day class learning multiple techniques for applying colored pencils to fabric with amazing results. No artistic skill is required, I will bring almost everything you need for your class so you can just show up and enjoy the day. I will be teaching you the secrets for creating an appliqué look with colored pencil, watercolor pencils and more. In my Half day class you will be given your choice of one of Sunflower or wildflower pre-quilted blocks from my newest embroidery CD, Color Me Quilts. These are some of my sketches in my sketchbook from Sugar Hill Farms Flowers recreated as stitch files just for you to color! I will be teaching you faux finishing techniques like marbling along with blending to give a more realistic look to your designs and how to create textures. Once sealed these pieces become washable and permanent. Its tons of fun and they can be applied to your art quilts or traditional quilts to add details and textures.
I will be giving you ideas for how to use your blocks for totes, quilts and more. There will be a $35.00 kit fee which will include everything you will need to create a beautiful and unique colored block. You also will have access to all of my other art supplies to use while you are in class. The supply list is only as suggesion.

1. Notepad and pen to take notes/pencil
2. Feel free to bring any colored pencils you might have.
3. Fine Tip Permanent Marker
4. Make sure you bring a creative spirit, an open mind, and your wonderful personality to the class
Included in your Kit fee for Art Applique
1. Your kit will consist of an 8”x8” prequilted/pre-stitched block for you to learn the
coloring techniques. You will be able to choose from two designs
2. 5 Inktense pencils.
3. Textile Medium.
4. A brush set for painting
5. Container and paper towel
I will be bringing everything you need to work on your block, you are welcome to bring
any pencils or supplies you have but you are still responsible for the kit fee. You will also
have full access to my other art supplies and pencils that I will have for your use in class.
You will learn:
• Color selection
• Blending
• Shading
• How to apply the pencil
• Sealing
• Marbleizing and so much more.
• Using Intense Bars
• Using Stamps and stencils
This is going to be a fun filled day of creative coloring!
This simple technique is so much fun, once you learn it you can apply to other surfaces,
other projects. Depending on how quickly you work you should take home a nearly
completed block, ready to finish as you like.
